The Integrated Model for the Prevention of Anal Cancer using screen and Treat for HSIL (IMPACT) is a research study that will be advancing anal cancer screening among sexual and gender minorities living with HIV in Nigeria. Through the IMPACT study, IHVN is seeking for qualified candidates for the following positon.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explain the purpose and nature of the study to new participants interested in joining the study.
  • Assess participants’ understanding of the study including the nature of visits and samples to be collected.
  • Answer participants’ questions and obtain written informed consent for participation in the study. For Hausa speakers who do not understand English, translate the study informed consent.
  • Enroll eligible clients into the study using study tablet.
  • Virtual communication with client for enrollment booking, and schedule study visits.
  • Answer any other questions that the client may have or refer to the senior recruiter or site manager.
  • Escort participants to the interviewer.
  • Work with TRUST Senior recruiter to review progress in scheduling, follow-up clients for next study visits, and ensure completion of weekly goals on enrollment.
  • Participate in the local and HQ weekly meetings.

Submit weekly report to site manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • BS degree in a health-related field/discipline is preferable
  • Two or more years working with networks of hard-to-reach populations
  • Previous experience maintaining confidentiality and assisting with situations that may require discretion.
  • Prior experience working with HIV/AIDS
  • Prior experience maintaining patient engagement with routine care is an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills in English and Hausa.
  • Ability to maintain close working relationship with staff and clients.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate and explain research studies so that the content material is easily understood.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and prior experience working with Tablets.

Hiring Range: Commensurate with education and experience. Salary is contingent on grant funding.

Reporting: Will report to the Site Manager of the Trust Clinic and the Principal Investigators of the IMPACT study.

  • Administer IMPACT study questionnaire using computer tablets.
  • Administer IMPACT post-procedure satisfaction questionnaire.
  • Translate the questionnaires to Hausa for those who do not speak English
  • Attend to client questions as needed.
  • Escort the client for clinical evaluation.
  • Participate in local and HQ team meetings.
  • Submit weekly report to site manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • BS degree in a health related field/discipline is preferable

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide programmatic and technical oversight to Regional/State Enhanced Sites Management teams across prioritized indicators of the ART cascade in line with PEPFAR and GoN guidelines.
  • Ensure review of Regional/State ESM reports and provision of feedback.
  • Ensure weekly program-wide data review for cascade losses and provision of feedback to site-based and regional technical teams, departments, Program Coordinating Unit, and IHVN Program Management Team. 
  • Ensure that required reports (Program, M&E, Finance, logistics, etc.) are prepared and submitted to the funder within the expected time frame.
  • Provide guidance, review, and harmonization of departmental/state work plans and facilitate implementation and reporting.
  • Provide an appropriate platform for integrating services within the various departments.
  • Support program area leads to develop program monitoring templates and ensure proper utilization and reporting.
  • Proactively analyze and identify choke points in program implementation and facilitate quick resolution by relevant departments.
  • Coordinate the planning, funding, and implementation of CDC key direction in the ART program.
  • Support capacity building for facility and program staff in line with PEPFAR and GoN guidelines.
  • Encourage the implementation of electronic platforms for data management to enhance prompt availability and utilization of data for informed decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBBS Degree or any health-related degree.
  • Master’s Degree is compulsory.
  • Candidate should have at least 8 years of working experience  with 5 years in the HIV program
  • Candidate must have good data analysis and grant writing skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of TB/HIV activities at the states and facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to hospital OPDs, TB clinics, HIV clinics, and the community on TB/HIV cascade to prevent cascade losses and ensure achievement of the desired targets.
  • Provide technical support for the training, supervision, and implementation of TB/HIV activities working with the TB/HIV lead.
  • Support weekly cascade analysis of TB/HIV data and share findings with HQ and state leads for follow-up and necessary remediation actions.
  • Facilitate and coordinate funding for TB/HIV activities through the review of work plan and implementation of planned activities in line with the program direction.
  • Facilitate training of staff and partners on TB/HIV by identification of training needs and making appropriate budgetary provisions.

Smiles have replaced Zainab Muhammed’s constant cough and chest pain. 22-year-old Zainab went to a patent medicine store for cough syrup when she was plagued with constant cough and took herbal medicines when the symptoms persisted for two months. In January 2022, a community volunteer spotted her during routine community visits.
